At today’s Cabinet meeting, councillors backed a match funding bid from Lyng & District Community Hall charitable committee. This award will help facilitate further funding bids, enabling the group to build a brand new village hall to replace the current dilapidated building, and provide a central community meeting place for residents of all ages in Lyng and surrounding parishes. Well done to the Project Team for all their very hard work!… The third and final application for a grant to the Big Lottery has gone in this January. The Project Team wins £38,000 of funding for development of the ‘Hall for All’ project. The money will help with the professional fees and other demands of the project development towards the Stage 3 submission. The last hurdle towards the £500,000 grant bid is progressing rapidly. The Stage 3 application is due into Big Lottery in December 2016 but the aim is to have it ready for September. A public display to show off the new project will be at the Car Boot Sale on Sunday
