Not long now. The new village hall is getting very close to completion! Our professional team, our main contractor and their sub-contractors have delivered a fantastic building which we all can be very proud of. The quality of the build and the fit-out will surprise you all and the hall will be enjoyed for many years to come. To the residents, The Generator that is running all day and night at the new Village Hall is the property and responsibility of UKPN. As yet they have not resolved the fault they have found on their main line. UKPN have an obligation to maintain power to their users, at present the only way to do this is by using the generator. As you will be aware the demolition of the old village hall is underway and our contractor MPH have secured the site and are progressing well. There have been some concerns over the roof sheets whether or not they are asbestos. We fully understand these concerns as the project team and MPH had the same concerns. Unfortunately the weather forecast for high winds this week means we've had to postpone the high level tree trimming until Tuesday 23rd and Wednesday 24th January. This means the demolition of the hall, and the tree trimming will be happening at the same time with work on both sides of the site, access through the site would be very dangerous.
