    Lyng Table Tennis Club

Lyng Village Hall is planning to create a table tennis club when the new village hall opens.

The hall will provide enough space for 4 match level tables like the ones pictured. We aim to run the club for ALL ages and abilities with the ultimate goal of bringing people into the sport for fun, fitness and competition.

The club will be run by volunteers in the local community who are experienced table tennis players and who can provide guidance for those who are just starting and are keen to learn the basics of table tennis, or for those who want to master the finer aspects of ‘spin’, ‘deception’ and the other dark arts of the game.

We aim to start with a 1 hour session in the early evening and possibly 1 hour during the day, these may be increased to 2 hours each if there is sufficient demand.

In order to secure the funding necessary to buy the equipment on behalf of the village hall, we will need to collect expressions of interest from the local community.

If you or members of your family are interested in playing table tennis, please provide your details via our online form

It will be FREE to join the club. There will be a small fee to pay, per play, which will cover hall fees and go towards maintaining the equipment (£1 for children under 16, and £2 for adults per 1 hour session).

Mark Dare, Development Consultant for Table Tennis England has said:

"I believe this is great project for Lyng, table tennis has great benefits for the local community, men and women, young and old. We are very excited to support this project and provide guidance whenever required."

You will be contacted nearer the time to let you know when the club will start.

Complete the ONLINE FORM to register your interest.
